Crashes when 4GB filesize reached.. ON NTFS!
Well, that’s pretty much it. Vegas Pro 8.
Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit with SP1.
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5200+ @ 2.7GHZ
8 GB of RAMConnected to SATA Drives formatted to NTFS
Should be no problem right?
However, when i am rendering a project, when it hits exactly 4GB, it crashes. Unknown Error. I know 4GB is a limit on FAT32.. but I have no FAT32 drives. I’ve tried it on all 3 drives. I’m rendering out to AVC format MP4 file at 1280×720.
Total project length is 5hr 15m (it’s 3 movies edited together.) consisting of 6 files total (3 Video and 3 Audio)
the 4GB length is about 36 % and takes roughly 8hrs 30m to get there and crash. I run these overnight with no other processes going other than maybe a web browser.
Any clues?

What a big project you busy with. Maybe you should try under preferences general tab and enable “Allow Wave renders up to 4 GIG”
it’s worth the try…
