crashes and error message
Posted by Grzegorz Kwiatkowski on December 6, 2010 at 7:30 pmRecently I started to get really irritated of Vegas 10 64bit crashing too often for my patience.
I am getting a message like this below (I pasted the whole image as it’s impossible to copy the text from the window):
Can anybody tell me what can cause these crashes and what this text mean?
It’s written something about stereoscopic stuff there but I don’t use it at all.
big thanks for help!!

December 6, 2010 at 7:50 pmI’ve found that it started to happen after I installed NewBlueFX trial plugins and it could have been the cause of conflict. I uninstalled 32-bit version but I was unable to uninstall 64-bit version properly so I simply deleted its folders.
The problem still exists although there are no messages concerning NewBlueFX plugins (I got them before uninstalling the plugins).
thanks for help

December 6, 2010 at 8:30 pmJoin the club – my 2 workstations having similar crashes in 10 – I’ve probably sent over 50 crash reports to Sony from both machines – really need ver.10B to come out soon!!! Also thought it was NewBlue and uninstalled to no avail. Even project with no 3rd party plug-ins crashes like crazy.

December 6, 2010 at 8:43 pmI am still claiming it’s a problem connected with NewBlueFx. It all came out after installing these plugins.
There is one forum that covers this issue but unfortunettely it’s in German ! But.. it seems somebody has found a solution there.
If anyone could understand whats written in the forum (link below) that might do the thing.
https://www.vegasforum.de/directx-plugins-initialisiert-t1940.html?s=5e315025e4f0d1c849d453b854310a0e&
They say something about dx_video_grovel.log file in APPDATA folder and that uninstalling NewBlueFX doesn’t work and one has to delete all the plugin remains in system registry.
Angelinka, the author of the last post, says that it helped her.
But how to find the NewBlueFX lines in the registry?

December 7, 2010 at 5:36 amCan you look at your OS and see if there was a restore point created prior to installing New Blue? If so, you may be able to have the OS rollback to just before install, which would theoretically eliminate all the installation. I’d start there. I know that both Windows 7 and Vista have restore points, I don’t know if XP did, it’s been too long.
Best of luck, that kind of installation is irresponsible. it should should be an easy thing to remove installed third party apps.

December 7, 2010 at 9:43 pmHeh, I’ve just reinstalled whole system and I still can’t open my projects as Vegas 10 64bit returns the same frustrating message. I think I will jump from a bridge or something.
Vegas should work first on reliability and then on additional features. It’s a buggy software that can’t be trusted.
