  Crash when applying the color key

  I have this project (an offline for approval) in which every time I apply a color key to remove the green screen behind the actors the program crashes. I had to rebuilt it from scratch as it became unrecoverable, in closer inspection I was able to determine the crash happens whenever there’s some other footage sharing the screen with the vide to be keyed, like on a side by side, but even if I don’t save the project becomes unrecoverable, I have to use a copy from my auto-save folder to continue.

  Anyone ever encountered this issue? Is there a workaround? I’m on CS6 on a MAC with Mountain Lion, ram and processing power are more than enough.
