crash on capture
Hi everybody,
Just having some problems with my new Kona LS, FCP 5, Tiger, G5 dual 2.3 set up. It basically gives me the beach ball of death most times I open the capture window. We’ve gone through a whole heap of trouble shooting, including changing raid discs, cables, upgrading software and drivers and even replacing the actual G5 (which was originaly a dual 2, but I read a lot of people saying the 2’s are full of bugs).
As far as I can see the only thing left is the card and the Digibeta deck that is still the same. We also have another identical setup with the same problem so I doubt that it is a dud card because both are having the same problem.
Can anyone help? It’s driving me crazy.

I have the same problem, but only when I choose a specific easy setup… 1080i/50 the rest of settings works perfect.
Sometimes, a mismacth in the capture settings lead into a crash.
verify the capture settings…

We’ve soughted the problem out. It seems Kona were a little too eager to release a new driver and there is a conflict with FCP 5. We’ve gone back to the previous Kona driver and it works perfectly.
