  Ok so I am new to FCP (and Mac). I am trying to capture HDV using FCP 5.0.4. Everytime after it cues the deck and plays up to the capture start it goes poof! and the whole FCP dissappears (just like my old Adobe Premiere 6)…..

  My only fix was to delete the FCP prefs file and it worked fine. But sure enough a coulpe of days later… poof! again.

  I also have a similar problem when trying to capture DV and have my playback selected as my Aja IO; as soon as I close the capture window after a successful capture it goes poof! and shuts FCP down. If I set playback to DV it is fine. And I thought Adobe had problems!

  Anyone here able to give me so insite as to what I might be doing wrong?
