  • Crash causes Premiere to lose all opacity, transition and motion effects

I am working with some video that seems to be in PAL format (25fps, 1.0 square dimension) put I am having the footage interpreted to NTSC (29.97fps, 0.9 4:3 dimensions) so I am using the motion tool to resize the footage a good bit. Sometimes Adobe crashes and I have to restart my system to get it working again, however, when I did this, I lost all effects (such as fading out, creating overlays and opacity on some footage as well as using time frames to create nice low zoom in and out effects). The effects and timeframes are shown to still be there on the timeline, but, in the video footage (in the preview, rendered as well as exported to avi), I no longer see the effects taking place.

This footage is important as it is going to be used to promote a new type of barrier system on the roadways and the sooner we present this, the faster we can put this system in place which will save many lives.

P.S. I do save the project every 5 minutes, so everything is still there after premiere crashes or if I have to restart just to clarify.

A response as soon as possible would be most appeciated.

Well, you might need to do what I did last weekend. I wiped out everything and reinstalled Windows. This time, I added a series of programs, created a Resore point, added more apps, another Restore point, etc.

Now if anything goes wrong, I will be able to back up to where it last worked.
