Crash
I have trashed my FCP becauuse when it starts up it goes to the no external divice attached window, then i go continue and it just doesn’t start up. My computer crashed a few day’s ago and it’s FCP has never been the same. All other sofware is fine.
I have tried to reinstall the software but when I am doing it, it goes to the upgrade menu when I need a full reinstall. Has anyone got any ideas on what I’m doing wrong?

Specs of the machine?
Did you just update, install anything? Repair permissions?

mac G5 1.8 ghz 2 gig of ram.
Havn’t up dated anything for a while. i was thinking it might be my start up disk because its 80 gig and I’ve only 8 gig left.

Did you repair permissions?
Do a little cleaning up then try.
Did you install any new software?
Have you upgraded everything that needs to be?
Not sure what you know,. just throwing things out there.

No, I did buy a new Lacie drive and it completely blew when this happened. I now have to pay to retrieve the data from it. When you want get a program off your machine is there a special way of doing it? I’ve cleaned up to the best of my abilities. Thanks for your help
