CPU Performance gains for CPU’s above a 5960X ?
Any articles or threads on performance gains for the 10, 12 and 14 core E5 Xeons compared to an i7-5960X in rendering ? Not concerned with the price of the three Xeons below and I don’t use mac.
Win 8.1 x64 on an aging P6TSE/980X still runs most things fine except rendering, transcoding is slow. I’ve found plenty of articles/charts comparing Xeons to Xeons or i7 to various i7/i5’s . Thanks much.i7 5960x compared to a single:
E5-2687W V3 10 core
E5-2690 V3 12 core

They don’t scale so good, because of thermal limits – the frequency is reduced when more cores are in use.
