How can I get FCP to use more of the available CPU power and RAM on my system. Right now, while exporting to compressor, only 900 MB of RAM out of 5 GB of available RAM is being utilized and the CPU is only operating at %60. I’d like to max everything out if possible. Any suggestions out there?

    Hi
Having the source clips and the destination folder on different drives/different SATA channels helps.

yea… That’s what I’m doing right now. any other thoughts? Is there a way to tell FCP to max out the CPU power when rendering?

[Charles Nottingham] “Right now, while exporting to compressor”

Export a quicktime using current settings, and THEN pull that file into compressor. Don’t export using compressor from FCP.
