January 8, 2007 at 5:43 pmHi , nice tutorial . I have one question (i’m relatively new to after effects and the COW too) ,
if we already have the clean plate , why can’t we just make a single comp , with clean plate as the
background , and the video with the van on top . Then we can just create an animated mask for the van ,
then duplicate that layer and time shift it , and that’s it ? why not .what kind of problems might occur if we do that? thanks . -

January 8, 2007 at 6:58 pmThat would be a normal way, But I believe this tut method allows you to load the clips into the RAM preview for real time playback where the technique you describe will not be a real time scrub.
Or I could be wrong.
