It’s an easter egg hidden in the software. Just do a search in this forum for Yak and you’ll learn more about Bruce.

It’s true. I’ve had the same thing a few times in the past. I think the cow has been there since version 1. I didn’t mention it to anybody becasue I thought I might be going insane. But now I know it’s not just me. Thanks.

Anyone can summon the Yak if you search for it.

[scott] “How do I summon the yak? I could not find anything on it. “

Beware, ’tis “bad luck” to ASK about this.

The Yak can be found if one searches for him.

[scott] “How do I summon the yak? I could not find anything on it.”

And you never will find anything on it. The information is passed on from editor to editor, never in a public forum lest you wish for years of bad luck to fall upon you.

I once knew an editor with a very successful practice who publicly posted how to find the Yak. He is now working as an tax preparer for H&R Block in Fresno.
