Couple of text wrapping questions
Hi,
I’m not entirely sure “wrapping” is the correct term, so forgive me.
My two questions are :
(1) If I have a long line of sub-header text, how can I ensure it wraps evenly, rather than just placing one or two words on the next line
(2) In Table Of Contents, how can I enforce a wrap so that text does not flow to the end of the line ?A picture = 1000 words as they say, so please see image attached which outlines both “problems” I am having.

1) Use “Balance ragged lines”:
https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/using/aligning-text.html#create_balanced_headline_text2) You can use right indent with a matching but negative last line indent value to force everything but the last line of a paragraph to break earlier.
Both can be used in the paragraph formatting of your TOC.

Yeah, I tried “balance ragged lines”, it sort of works, but isn’t as ruthless as I’d like it to be. Also its kinda broken if you’re using left-just.
Will have a look into your second suggestion though.

You wouldn’t use it with justified text, as justification would just overrides the balancing.
How “ruthless” do you want it to be? If you want the first line to always be shorter than the second line, I guess you could try and combine it with left indent/last line indent.
