I have a project where I am essentially counting the number of times a word is said in a video clip. I will have an animating number on screen that increases per mention of that word.

Seeing as how the word is said nearly 200 times, I am hoping there is an easier way to do this than having 200 text layers.

My hope is to play the video clip in real-time and hit the marker keyboard shortcut every time the word is mentioned. With every marker hit, the number increases.

    1) Is it even possible to link an animation to the number of markers on a layer?
    2) Is there perhaps another more efficient way to accomplish what I’m trying to do?

    Thanks in advance!

You don’t need 200 text layers… you can animate the text source.

Anyway, even though I’m sure there’s an automated way to count markers(sadly I don’t know one), any counter style animations usualy lack the proper manual kerning some fonts require. And that bothers me way more then typing 200 numbers. And after all, once you get it marked it should not take you much time to type the text changes.

And I’m betting it would take you more time to find and set out a different way to do it then to type it.
