Countdown
I’m creating a countdown for a church service, and i know how to use the text effect and render it backwards to get it counting down instead of counting up. My question is, why can’t i make it 3d or add shadows to it like I can do with regular text? Am I doing something wrong?

I suggest you use the Text Tool (then can go 3D) and Dan’s Universal Countdown expression:
