I may been asking the wrong question before so here I go again.
Let`s say that you want to cut down the ammount of light/luminosity in your final project. How should I go about?
Apparently every attempt give`s me the same outcome.
A- cutting the ammount of whites or mids
    B- cutting down the opacity
I also tried some filters with no success
The bottom line is that I need to lower the luminosity of the clip and make sure that during output to sd dvd keeps that setting.
Any suggestion please, or point e in the right direction.
The dvd looks fantastic it`s only to bright.
    ciao

Hmm- you can use the color correction and broadcast safe in FCP to bring luma down. There’s a slight shift when you got out to DVD maybe a point or two in IRE but nothing major. You can also apply an overall gamma filter in Compressor to help.
