Could There Be A Bug In the Project File?
PowerMac G4 867MHz
1.5GB RAMM
OSX Tiger 10.4.11
Final Cut Pro 5.1.4OK, so bear with me . .
I posted yesterday about not being able to apply ANY VIDEO FILTERS at all; no color correction, no nothing. I thought maybe it was because I have an older system, and I am kind of as far as I can go with Final Cut versions… maybe even having gone a little past what my system can handle.
OK. . . based on some feedback, I did a little experimenting.
I opened up a brand new project file. . .called it “revised timeline” ; then, I went into the troublesome timeline (where I couldn’t apply any effect). I selected ALL clips in the timeline and copied them; then went into “revised timeline” and pasted everything in.
Can you believe. . .I can apply filters now.
So, what do you think? Did I have a bug in that original project file?
And, am I able to SAFELY WORK exclusively in this new project?
Mind you, I have not imported any of the captured DV into this new project yet. . .do I need to? I ask because I don’t know if I’m going to have any media management issues (you know, offline files or anything like that). I am just astounded that I can do the work in one project, but not the original.
Is there anything I might have done in the original that I do not want to repeat?
Thank you very much, you fellows (and gals) are awesome.
