  • Could not Instantiate Waves IR1 Plug-in when opening Final Cut Studio 5.1

I just went through opening up Final Cut Pro – it took approximately 35 minutes, and I had only one problem. A message comes up stating that “Could not instantiate Plug-ins” and it only appears for the Waves IR1. It got through everything else OK. Is there some way to bypass just the IR1 so FCP does not look for it each and every time? I am an audio person and I would like to use some of my many audio plugins to process the audio used in the picture. I definitely don’t need the IR1 plugin and would just as soon not have FCP look for it again. Thanks.

Remove it from your FCP plugin folder and you should be good. The path is:

    MacintoshHD>Library>Application Support>FinalCutProSystemSupport>Plugins

    -Todd Beabout
    Vazda Studios

Unfortunately that does not do the trick. These Wave plugiins are located in the Component file. Address is: HD/Library/Audio/Plug-ins/Components. And the difficult part is that I can remove the Waveshell plugin but that removes everything. There does not seem to be a way to remove just this particular plugin. All of Waves plugins and I have the Diamond bundle so there are quite a few, reside under the one heading of “WaveShell-AU_5.2.component” and “WaveShell-AU_5.0.1.component”. Thanks for the try. Any other ideas?

    35 MINUTES TO OPEN FCP?
What the heck kind of project do you have there?
Or are you saying, the load time is BECAUSE of
    the Wave plugins ?
