Could AE do this?
kind of a way off question…
i’m doing a abstract art piece (installation with looped video) and would like to use shot material in a new way. basically, to have ae (or something else) generate abstract animations from video footage. basically like you can have it react to sound

There’s not much new under the sun.
AE will not do this for you in real time.
Start researching the tool for video disk jockeys. Tons of cool real time image manipulation and filtering stuff in that niche market.
None of it is anything I’d call “new,” though.bogiesan

bogiesan, could you mention a few packages that you were thinkin of?
got really into Max/MSP for a while, while doing a few other things etc
and realized today, that i forgot the original goal along the way,
software that responds to visual data.
