    Hi,

Does anybody here know who may have a JVC Digital-S player in Costa Rica? I need to copy some Digital-S tapes to DVCAM and can’t seem to find anybody who offers this service.

There’s a place here in Miami that can transfer from Digital S to D-9. They transfer my Digital S footage from time to time. Email me at granball@msn.com if you’re interested.

    Hi Greg,

Thanks for your response. I actually need somebody inside Costa Rica who could locally copy Digital-S tapes to DVCAM tapes. There is a time factor here that makes it impossible for me to wait for tapes to copy in Miami.

    Regards,

Where are you in Costa Rica? I would think that San Jose or Liberia would have a facility.

One suggestion would be to try and contact one of the videographers that work at a tourist attractions. I remember in La Fortuna, a guy who was taping (probably miniDV) and then creating DVDs for the tourist. They might not have the equipment you’re looking for, but could provide a good lead on someone who does.
