Has anyone ever had quicktimes exported from an Avid system become dead files? We have been noticing footage exported months ago from both in AVR75 and Meridian quicktime codecs(MC 1000 and MC Adrenaline) over time are unreadable by After Effects and the Quicktime player. Files we have rendered from AE are fine, just raw footage exported eventually is unreadable.

Perhaps the QT’s in question were only QT Reference files linking to old media? Check the file sizes, maybe.

No, i know they were not references. It is weird. One day they are fine, then a couple months later, quicktime says it is a file that it cant understand.
