    Hello,

I’ve been working on a huge project in Premiere Pro CS4. I got the “the project appears to be corrupted, it cannot be opened” error message. Autosave was only set to do 5 previous versions, the most recent of which is just as bad as starting from scratch. I have also tried importing the corrupted project into a new project in Premiere.

Keeping in mind that those two possibilities are useless, is there any other way to open this file without having to start over from scratch?

    Best,

    Aaron Cadieux

I have autosave set to a short interval and keep about 50 backups. This has saved my neck a few times. Unfortunately really big projects become unstable and/or corrupt. Not sure if Adobe acknowledges this, but it is true for some, has never happened for others. Weird, eh.

We also are in the habit of doing a save as.. periodically, or weekly/daily depending upon how much has changed.

If all of your backups are corrupt, I am not sure you have many options. Maybe Mike V or Tim have some ideas…?
