I have a problem wih videofiles that cannot play or be imported into FCP. They were filmed with dv tapes and filmed with a panasonic DVX100 and then captured into FCP. Somehow the programme or computer began to generate more clips with strange endings like 1/3-v and 2/3-v and 3/3-v and sometimes 1/2-1-v. Also, the computer has strange info on the clips. They are all defined as 2.15GB although their duration is different. F.ex. a dv clip with a duration of 27:05 minutes but with a size of 2.15gb.
My problem is this. The original tapes cannot be found. I need these clips. I cannot play the clips in quicktime player, FCP, Streamclip or VLC (plays here, but with much difficulty, and tons of digital mistakes). But the clips do play in the viewer on the desktop when I press space. So there is info on the clips it seems. But only the first 9 min. or so, although the timecode says differently. This matches the size of 2.15gB.
What do I do? How can I convert the clips?
