July 23, 2011 at 5:15 amDo you mean that your project is blank when opened in Premiere?

July 23, 2011 at 8:08 pmNo. When I open the project in XML Wrench. The project won’t open in premiere or AE. Says it’s corrupt.
When I open an auto save version in wrench I see lots of data but the corrupt file is blank. Like the data has been replaced with spaces?

August 23, 2011 at 3:30 pmHi Paul and Vince,
I am having the same issue, except both the project files and auto-save files are blank.
I saved multiple versions of a project yesterday and today they won’t open, I get the error message “The project appears to be damaged, it cannot be opened”
When I open other projects in an XML editor the code is all there, when I open yesterdays files there is no code. (not sure if this matters but the size of the working project is 1.5 MB and the non working is 4.2 MB)
The projects that open were created with Snow Leopard as the OS, and the projects that have no code in them are from Lion.
After some Google searching I found this post: https://discussions.apple.com/message/15998556#15998556 saying that “an Adobe employee who said that Lion has a low level file system bug that can cause corruption” When I talked to adobe they said it was a Lion issue. When I talked to apple they said it was an Adobe issue and to reinstall Lion and Premiere.
Did you figure out your blank project issue? and Do you have Lion installed on your system?
best,
-Rich

June 24, 2017 at 12:15 pmNelson you can also send the file directly to adobe support via email attachment. they will fix it really fast. also, check for autosaves or importing it into a new blank project as well.

June 24, 2017 at 1:25 pmThanks so much Chris! Importing into a new project didn’t work for me, but luckily I found an autosave version that was close to where I had left off. I’ll send Adobe the corrupt file today. Thanks again for your help and info!!

May 30, 2018 at 1:44 pmHi Vince, I wonder if you can help me also…
Having similar issues with a corrupt file, my auto saves for some reason didn’t save me recent work, just very old stuff.
I tried using XML Wrench and managed to fix it to being valid but it still wont open in premiere.
Bringing it into AE also was ineffective.
Would it be possible to send this to you to take a look?
If so, how would be best to do this?
Thanks so much, this would be massively helpful
Thanks,
Mercer
