    Corrupt User Login Name

    I have OS 10.1. Lately everytime I log in, the desktop loads, the sceen blinks, and sends me back to the login screen. I heard that this is caused by a corrupt login name or file and in order to repair it I have to create a new user. However I have to create this new user without access to the desktop. Any help or ideas would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Boot from your OS CD and create a new account or you can try to repair permissions.

    Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately the computer is not responding to the OS startup disk while holding down the C key. Any specific directions on how to repair the permissions? Thanks.
