I am not sure if this is the correct forum for this question.

I cannot capture video from my Canon XL1 to Premiere Pro CS3 any more. I keep getting a “Capture Device Offline” error. Next, I opened Scenelyzer and captured the video to my hard drive. However, when I try to view the AVI file in Windows Media Player I get an error “Windows Media Player cannot play the file. One or more codecs is missing.” Also, if I try to import the file captured by Scenelyzer into Premiere Pro I get an error.

Next, I used my daughter’s computer to capture the video and was able to play it on her computer and on my computer (I used Movie Maker to capture it).

Also, files that I captured several months ago using my Canon XL1 and Scenelyzer are viewable on WMP and I can import them into Premiere Pro CS3.

I used the program “GSpot” to look at the AVI and it reports that it is corrupted.

Sooo, I may have a codec problem but am not sure where to start in solving it. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Kurt
