  • Correct process for editing 640 x 480

    Hi,

i’ve been searching through the forums and can’t find the exact answer to my problem. I’m editing a short 3 minute film. The original footage were .wmv files so I created .mov files (640 x 480) – the files have a black border all around the action and I am not sure why this is. I don’t know what camera the footage was originally shot on.

I imported the files into FCP. The sequence setting came up as below.

I don’t know how to make the footage fill the screen. I have read on COW that I need to change the footage to 720 x 480 with a pixel aspect ratio of .9. Is this true and if so how do I do this? Is it in Motion or is it before I import?

Also how would I get the best quality for export?

Any help would be much appreciated.

    many thanks
    Sarah
