I am working on a shoot and some of the b-roll we will be using is some animation that has been rendered at 60i. We are shooting some interviews with the F900R and need to figure out what frame rate to shoot at in order to cut seamlessly between the interview and b-roll. We really don’t want to shoot 59.94. Is that our only option or could we get away with shooting 29.97p. And we really can’t re-render the animation. Anyone have any thoughts?

Why not shoot the interviews at 59.94 (60i)? There won’t be a noticable difference between that and 29.97. With motion, you might be able to tell because of progressive instead of interlaced but interviews won’t give it away. If you want them to look different, use filters or a gamma setting.
