    Hi All,

I am sure this sort of post has been asked inumerously, but I figured I would ask anyway.
I have been designing motion GFX for TV mostly, and a few smaller commercial clients, but I would like to take on more (perhaps smaller, but more frequent) industrial/corprate clients. Aside from joining a local Chamber of Comm, which has had mixed responses lately from the forum, is there a few suggestions of alternate methods to tap into that client pool?
    Cheers

That’s the toughest part of this business. Have your research assistant find out if there are reference books with listings of companies in your area. The chamber might have a listing of its membership. As others may have mentioned, the chamber is a mixed bag. Trying to figure out the high rollers from the little guys is the trick. Once you do track down an up to date reference book you can have your receptionist make cold calls. The other tough part is finding out exactly who in the company is responsible for hiring vendors. Extracting that information from busy employees who don’t want to give you the time of day is an art. You might be able to find exactly what you’re looking for right here on the web. Once you do find your man/woman, you can bet a few hundred others like yourself are already beleagering him/her.
You have to think of this as your full-time job for a while. Persistance will pay off, but it’s damned hard at first. This is why salesmen make the big bucks.
    Good luck!
