does anyone know with the core duo 2 if youll be able to swap that processor with the core duo version 1. i have a laptop wish I waited for the new processor. will it help? is it possible? whats the price?

Not compatible. Core Duo 2 is the new processor especifically for desktops.

Not to mention that it’s still a ways off as far as I can tell. It’s an announcement but I expect that shipping units will be months away.

From what I’ve been hearing from some of my friends, the “seed” units have shipped but it’s still a way off. If it ships faster than what I’m hearing, I’ll be a happy camper for those who can add them to their systems. Me, I am tapped out on new computers at the moment and won’t be buying another for a while…no matter how fast the processors get. ;o)
