Copyright Symbol?! Anyone…
Posted by George Simeonidis on June 14, 2007 at 3:41 pmHello,
This may sound a little amateur, but could anyone let me in on the location of the copyright symbol in premiere pro 2.0. Is it even in the fonts palette in the title tool?! I just can’t find it.
If by some odd chance it doesn’t exist in premiere, could anyone let me in on how I would go about creating it in premiere.
Cheers!

June 14, 2007 at 4:01 pmWOW! Thanks for the super fast response!
It’s alt+0169, but let me ask you, how did you know that?
Is there a reference or guide somewhere out there that defines all of those values?

June 14, 2007 at 4:15 pmIf you’re running Windows, you can refer to the Character Map. It’s located under Start –> Programs –> Accessories –> System Tools. Or you can just click Start –> Run and type ‘charmap’ (without the quotes).
Find the symbol you want and click on it. You’ll see the keystroke for that symbol in the lower right corner of the charmap window.

June 14, 2007 at 4:30 pmI now remember it was indeed 0169, because the problem Premiere has is accepting character codes without a leading 0, so for instance ALT+130 or ALT+137 for accented characters are not supported. I have made a feature request long ago and am curious to see if that has been honored in CS3.

June 14, 2007 at 4:35 pminteresting…yeah, in deed it was 0169.
…and i guess we’ll see if they’ve bothered to update the glitch in CS3.
I know creative suite 3 has launched, but any news on Premiere’s release date yet?

June 14, 2007 at 4:51 pmFrom a mail I got today, they expect to ship my order around August 20. The previous mail mentioned August 27, so it appears they are now one week ahead of the previous schedule.

June 19, 2007 at 12:48 pmI may be mistaken, but i think ALL character codes need to be 4 digits, hence the leading zero, for any program where you want extended “alt +” characters. I know it’s true in 3dsMax and Illustrator.
BTW, I keep a shortcut for “character map” in my main start menu. I can only remember the first digit (0) for things…-jeff
