copyright issue
Hi,In the process of building a dvd.It will feature school kids, but no names.Can I use music from a CD that I have purchased as the music for the actual background music in time with the slides on my webpage or is that music copyrighted even though I have bought the C.D.
I stress that I have purchased the cd.

Whether you purchase the CD or not is besides the point – it is technically illegal to use any copyrighted music in your videos. Wedding videographers have been doing it for years, but in a recent case, Tony Romo’s videographer was sued for using popular music in the online wedding video. There are plenty of great buy-out music libraries available, or you can get single tracks as well for download. Better safe than sorry
