    Hi there,

Apart from heading our churches video department I also do photography. I am interested in creating DVD slide shows of the weddings I do. The DVD would only be sold to the client i.e. not mass produced.

Obviously I cannot use a track of a CD I purchased, but could I use a track that my client owns?

If I can’t how would I go about getting permission to use a track i.e. Josh Groban?

    Thanks in advance.

While technically using a published song in a for-hire scenario constitutes an intellectual property violation, the reality is that your chances of being struck by lightning are greater than the chances of someone coming after you for this.

If you want to legitimately clear a track, start with the publisher. They usually have rights forms on their websites.
