I work for a college video department and recently our students ran into a problem we can’t figure out. Everytime they try to export their timeline in Final cut pro, using compressor or quicktime conversion, it says the timeline is copyprotected and will not do it. Does anyone have any idea how to turn this off. I can’t even get the footage to Print to tape.

Is there any copyrighted material in the timeline that came from a DVD or VHS?

No. Everything on the timeline is shot entirely by the students for projects. That is why it baffles us so much. We have 4 G4 macs, and 2 G5 macs and they all do the same thing. All have their own final Cut package.
