  • Copying Precomp, but creating new nested comps, layers and precomps

Posted by Gene Weglarz on August 15, 2012 at 12:12 am

I have a template that I am editing. It has photos and text. I’ve run out of image placeholders, and want to copy one of the precomps and add it on to the end of the original comp. But if I duplicate, it points to all of the original images and text. Is there any way of creating a copy of the precomp with nested precomps that point to new copies?

For instance, I can copy the Precomp that contains 7 image precomps that hold the precomps for images and the precomps for text. The images and text all point back to the originals.

Any way to do this besides just copying the main precomp and creating new text and image precomps?

    Thanks.

You can use true comp duplicator from aescripts.com
It is free, if you will name your price as 0.

This script will copy all your comps and precomps and used footage.
