  • Copying Path Keyframes Creates New Path Group

As the subject hopefully illustrates, I am trying to animate a shape path to morph the shape. I am trying to copy the keyframes that I made to create the initial morph so that I can reverse the keyframes to reverse the morph animation. When I copy the keyframes and paste them further down the timeline the shape layer adds another path group and places the keyframes into this new group. (See picture below).

This is causing my keyframes to not morph the shape the way I inteded.

I am not sure what I am doing wrong procedure-wise and would love some help!

After you copy the keyframes make sure you select the right track to paste by clicking on the “Path” text. If you select the layer the behavior you’re experience happens.
