  • Copying movement on just one axis – possible?

Here’s what I’m facing: I have a line of text that I want to animate one letter at a time. The letters are all placed, each on their own layer, and I want each letter to animate on a line on their z-axis while fading in. I have placed the movement of the animation on one layer and I want to now copy that motion onto the other layers, but when I copy and paste the Transform Position attributes, it also copies over the position of the X and Y axis. Obviously, I don’t want each letter to be on top of each other. Can I just copy and paste the Z-axis movement without copying the X and Y positions? I want them all to animate on their z-axis in the same way, just not into the same spot.

You can separate dimensions [link] to get independent control of X, Y and Z.
