  • Copying “motion” settings in FCP 4.5

Posted by Mark Underkofler on April 29, 2005 at 1:13 am

I know I’m overlooking something but I can’t find a way to copy the “motion” settings from one scene to another. For example, I’ve set a bunch of parameters for distortion and cropping that I want to apply to another scene. I can’t find a way to copy and paste these settings. I can do it with “effects” but not “motion”. Am I missing something?

    Thanks in advance.

(BTW, I’m talking about in FCP not in MOTION, the program.)

Highlight clip with desired effects and filters and copy.
Highlight clip to which you wish to apply the effects and filters and paste attributes (option+v) which opens dialog box asking which atributes you wish to paste.

First click on the clip that you have adjusted and “copy”. Then you need to “Paste Attributes” you can do this by clicking “option + v” or control clicking on the clip in the sequence that you want to put the motion attributes on. Then selecting “Paste Attributes”. Then select what attributes you want.
