    Hi all,
Am trying to copy media from one external firewire drive to another,
using finder. Not all the media will copy- I keep getting this error
message with certain files: error -36. Was discussing it with someone
in the office who said it was an ownership/permission issue and showed
me how to change the folder settings to “read & write” for all access
designations (users and groups, etc). I did that to the folder where
the file lives, and that folder’s folder, and that folder’s folder and
so on. It still won’t copy. Is this not the issue?

You have to click to check box that says “apply to enclosed items”. Also, make sure that your destination hard drive as all read/write permissions enabled. If this doesn’t work, and you can afford to lose all the material on the destination drive, reformat it.
