copying just specular settings
Posted by Ben Rollason on August 29, 2010 at 3:25 pmIs there a simple way to copy, for instance, the specular settings from one material and paste it into the specular settings of another one?
It would be a nice time-saver.

August 29, 2010 at 4:03 pmThere’s no direct way to copy all the settings at once, but you can open a second attributes manager, or one attributes manager and one material manager, lock one of them with the lock icon at the top, and then copy/paste each setting from one material to another.

August 30, 2010 at 5:04 amhere is a way, which is a bit bizarre, but it works.
Shift click on the parameters you want to copy.
ctrl click to set keyframes
right click on them> animation>copy track
open the other material.
shift select all the fields
right click>animation>paste tracks.move slider left right and Tadda!

August 30, 2010 at 2:41 pmGood call on the shift-clicking but you don’t actually have to create animation tracks. Just shift-click the parameters, copy, select the other material and the parameters will still be selected, … paste.
Knew that but forgot it somewhere along the way. Gotta love getting older. ;-D
