Copying clips from 1080p to 720p for keyframing?
My hobby is videoing local amateur shows and concerts and I use four or five HD camcorders along with Premiere Pro CS6. After the events I use the multicam feature and once that’s done I copy all the edited clips to a new timeline set to 720p, scale them down to 66.7% so they fill the screen and then I keyframe panning and zooming (to a reasonable extent) within the clips particularly from the static camcorders. Finally I burn DVDs.
Using PPro 6 this is fairly easy but with all these Adobe ‘cloud’ changes I’m thinking of switching to FCPX. My question: in FCPX is this sort of workflow (in particular the copying of the 1080p to 720p and keyframing the clips in the new sequence/project to get them to pan and zoom) feasible/straightforward?
Thanks in advance for any help and advice.
