    Hi.

This is an issue which has frustrated me for awhile and I’d like to finally find out a definitive answer. Every other editor I’ve spoken to doesn’t know a solution either… so……

Does anyone out there know a quick way to copy and paste a clip with an OVERWRITE edit rather than a SPLICE edit which moves everything down the timeline (which I don’t want at times)? Is there an additional keystroke that you can add to the copy/paste commands to make it overwrite the clip that you’re trying to paste?

    We’re all totally perplexed….

    Thanks much!

    Easiest way:

Alt+C on a PC, maybe Option+C on a Mac? This copies the selected tracks between your In and Out marks and loads it into your Source monitor. Go to where you want to “paste” it, and hit Overwrite (you’ll need to clear your old In/Out marks in your sequence first, or remark your In where you want to “paste”).

To make it even easier, open your Keyboard settings and Command Palette and add the Alt modifier from your Command Palette to the C key (which is, by default, Copy to Clipboard) then everytime you hit C it will copy to your Source monitor.

    Michael.
