  • Copying a path from Illustrator in to AE

Im having a problem copying a path from Illustrator in to AE to create a motion path for a null object to follow. I have ticked the AICB check box in Illustrators properties and have preserve paths selected, i also have PDF selected (and have also tried without them selected which also doesnt work).

Here is what im doing: I select the path > press ctrl+C to copy > go in to AE > select the null objects position property which has a keyframe already in it > and press ctrl+V to paste.

AE doesnt seem to be recognising the Illustrator path atall because when i paste in AE it pastes a position keyframe i had previously copied. I have tried on a new solids position and also to a mask path but i still get the previously copied keyframe.

Not sure what the issue is, hope someone can help me out.

    Thanks guys
    Adam
