I have a composition that I want to copy from one After effects project to the other. I can copy paste solid layers without a problem, but whenever I paste a composition or any layer that contains footage, after effects does not carries the layers sources, resulting in a very ugly multicolored “source deleted” layer..

I am doing this by ?+C a compositition, opening the new project and ?+V’ing it. Of course, because AE doesn’t allows us to open more than on proj at the same time I cannot drag and drop between them…

    Any tips?

    thanks.

    that worked, thanks a lot!

I had figured it out that I could import one into the other, but had no knowledge of that “clean unused” button
