copy paste clip into another video track
I’m trying to simply copy a video clip from one video track to another and I’m not managing! There used to be this solo track option that took care of this in version 14 I think but the option is gone. I read upon it and it says you can option click the track and it solos it, and indeed it works but my paste item still goes on the original track.
Any ideas?

I am using the latest version of Resolve and do this occasionally. It’s real simple using keyboard commands to copy and paste, or Right Click options.
Highlight the clip or group of clips and hit Control C (On a PC) to copy the clip(s) to the clipboard. Or right click the highlighted clip and choose Copy.
Then switch to the timeline to which you want to paste the clip. Move the view point to a location where there are no clips.
Put your cursor in the timeline at that location and hit Control V or right click and choose Paste. You can then move the clip to where you want it.
You can also Copy and Paste clips and Titles within the same timeline.

Make sure when you paste the clip that you have the auto-select “on” for the track where you want the clip to go and “off” for the other track(s). If you hold down Option+click the auto-select icon, this will toggle on/off states for the other tracks. Also, make sure you do the same for the audio tracks otherwise if the clip you are copying has audio with it, it will paste over the existing audio from the parent track.
