  • Copy and pasting certain Motion keyframes without others

    Hi,
just wondered if there was a way of copy and pasting specific motion key frames along a video clip without interfering with other large key
    frame movements.

I want to animate something moving up the screen which has a machanic wobble to it. I’ve made the two keyframes to move the thing up the screen over time but don’t want to go through the whole piece one frame at a time to create the subtle mechanic wobble.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    many thanks 🙂

I would suggest sending the clip to Motion. Motion 3 has a great behavior called wriggle that will add that random motion to your clip without having to key frame it. You can adjust how much wriggle, what axis, how random, etc. It is a great feature without having to try and key frame the motion in FCP.

    hi,
I hightlighted the part I wanted to wriggle and went >send to > Motion

Then highlighted all the parts, selected the wriggle effect and pressed apply, but nada. There’s something I’m not doing!
    help! 🙂

In order to cause wriggle to animate, you have to define which axis to animate. In the Inspector > Behavior Tab, there is a drop down for “Apply To”. If you click the “Go” dropdown choose properties > transform > position > X and Y. This will apply the wriggle effect to the X and Y axis.
