  • Copy and Paste sequence, audio/video clips get out of sync?

Posted by Jason Ferris on November 11, 2010 at 4:25 am

I’m trying to copy an entire timeline into a new sequence. Basic, right? Well, when I paste the timeline into a new sequence, I get several problems. Spaces appear between video clips; audio clips become out of sync by 1 or 2 frames; the audio levels reverse themselves (where they are high in the source timeline, they become low in the new timeline and vice-versa).

Does anyone know what’s going on here? If I don’t find a solution, I’ll have to go through and manually adjust everything again!!

    Thanks.

Is the frame rate identical in both sequences? The gaps and shifts sound like what happens when 23.98 is pasted into 29.97 or vice versa.

I don’t know what is happening with audio levels, but I suspect the clips are being trimmed which might delete critical keyframes, changing your levels.

Problem solved!! Thanks — it was indeed the frame rate.

Dude you’re an absolute legend! I was having the same problem as Mr Ferris. I added a clip I made in AE and of course clicked yes to change the settings for ‘best performance’ but did it subconsciously lol.
    Thank you once again!
