Copy and Paste on the timeline
Simply put, I have an audio file on Audio track 3. Is there a way to copy and paste that file to the same audio track further down the line.
A regular old Ctrol C & Ctrol V drops the file on audio track 1 by default.
It’s not a major inconvenience but obviously if there is a keyboard shortcut it would certainly speed up the workflow.

Yes. Route your tracks. So on your timeline turn off A1 and A2, Turn on A3, and paste. You can also turn off all tracks and it will paste to the same track you copied from.

You can also option/alt drag the clip to anywhere on the timeline to dupe the clip.
Film Editor, Avid Media Composer Editor, Adobe Premiere CC Editor, FCP 7 Editor.
