  • Copy and paste keyframes – Swap X pos with Y pos

    Hi,
it looks like I’m not able to copy/paste keyframes as in After Effects. In timeline window I can copy a whole track to another object but not a selection of keyframes, (CTRL V doesn’t work, Paste in Edit menu is just greyed out), and of course I can’t Cut/Paste from X pos to Y pos in the same object (swap X with Y). I’ve read somewhere to CTRL drag, but this is just duplicating keyframes inside the same track. It should be so simple that of course I am missing something, but what?

    (win 7, C4D 12)

    Thank you

You should be able to copy/paste keyframes, but the object you’re copying to has to have an existing track of the right sort. Assuming the object has the right track, use CtrlC to copy the keyframes, then go to the frame where you want the keys pasted (if you’re not already there), select the track you want to paste into and CtrlV

Yes, I had all tracks needed, it just looks like it had something to do with Key mode or F-curve mode in the timeline: I mean, if I am in Key mode I can copy/paste everything everywhere, but if I am in F-curve mode I can’t understand the logic, it looks like I can’t paste keyframes on different tracks (X to Y of same object) or on different objects. Anyway, I’ll stick to Key mode, thank you very much.
