Just wondering if anyone has run into this before.

I have a few effects using the motion (scale / position) and drop shadow. I reuse this animation multiple times throughout the project. I’ve noticed the duration of this effect shifts when I copy and paste between clips. It’s seems really bizarre. Does the amount I’m zoomed into the “Effect Controls” cause the shift in duration between keyframes? If so, is there a setting where I can shut this off? I want a consistent animation for all clips and really confused why this is shifting. Thanks!

    Hi Bart,

Can’t say I’ve ever run into this exact problem. When you copy/paste, what are you selecting when you copy? I find selecting the keyframes themselves often doesn’t work at all for me, vs selecting the whole effect (like ‘motion’).

Also, are all of the clips from the same source and running at the same fps?

If the clips you are copying key frames between are different lengths the normal “paste” technique will by default scale them, this can lengthen effects when going to longer clips and also shorten them when going to shorter clips. If you want to keep the exact timing, when the “Paste Attributes” window comes up, deselect the checkbox in the upper left that controls “scale the effect.”

Ah ha… thank you Herb. It looks like that was the issue ..

    Appreciate the help!

Another strange issue. Before you described the solution, I created animation presets with the keyframe specification set to “in point” (not scaled). Even with that setting, I’m noticing small variances in keyframe animation when I paste the information..
