  • Copy and past column data to another column

Posted by Scott Davis on May 8, 2015 at 3:16 pm

I was shown at one point how to copy an entire column’s data to another column. For the life of me I can not remember how to do it. Any ideas?

    Thanks,

Select the column header , hit Cmd/Ctrl+D, pick the column you want to copy it to and hit OK.

Michael, thanks. It doesn’t seem to be working. I am on 8.3.1 if that maters. What is “ok” mean.

What part is not working? The entire column will highlight, then do a command-D or control-D and a dialog box pops up with a list of columns. Select, click OK. Not all columns are equal, an obvious one is copying comments to a timecode column for example.

Michael, The part that is not working is the guy behind the keyboard. I was hitting “control” and “command” and “D” and nothing was happening. When I hit just”command” and “D” it works perfectly. Thanks so much.
